The Association of Soy and Corn Producers of Mato Grosso (Aprosoja) participated in the panel on technology during the Farm Show, in Primavera do Leste. Researcher Silvio Crestana, from Embrapa Instrumentação, presented the technologies and innovations that are changing agriculture. "Technology has already taken the first place in importance for agriculture, surpassing land and work. And the next revolution comes from the convergence of these technologies for the benefit of agribusiness", he stated.

The executive director of Aprosoja, Wellington Andrade, recalled that the association has been reflecting on the current production system in the face of stagnant productivity and the constant increase in production costs. "We produce 30% of the country's soybeans and 9% of the world's soybeans, but there is this concern. How can upcoming technologies help producers? How can we combine growth with quality reflected in better profitability for the producer", he asked. Crestana believes that agriculture is indeed moving towards automation and that it is not possible to make the discussion about technologies something marginal.

Consultant João Furtado, who develops a management project for the city hall of Primavera do Leste, participated in the panel and said he is confident in the future of agriculture. "We are on the right track, but I don't know if innovations are moving at the necessary speed," he said. He reinforced that the people who came to Mato Grosso have the quality of being entrepreneurs, but now limitations appear. And to overcome this, technologies need to be translated to be used well.

The superintendent of the Mato Grosso Cotton Institute (Ima-MT), Álvaro Salles, added that research for innovations is quite complex in the country and suggested the creation of a private fund for research aimed at the needs of the state's agriculture. "It's important that we are proud of the people here and create an environment for regional talents", he stressed.

Exhibition - The Farm Show continues until Friday (08). Visit the Aprosoja stand and learn more about the association.
