Threats to pollinators put food security at risk
International report points to war, microplastics and artificial light as emerging threats to bee survival
The organic products chain has growth potential, but it depends on information, technology and institutional support. This topic was the focus of a panel held during AgroBrasília 2025. Producers, startups and experts discussed ways to expand the market and ensure economic viability.
Joe Valle, from Malunga Farm, advocated for enthusiasm and unity to advance the supply of healthy and sustainable food. Guilherme Souza, from AgroBee, presented productivity gains in coffee with assisted pollination. A study with Embrapa and Syngenta indicated an increase of 16,5%, with an estimated impact of R$22 billion.
Sylvia Wachsner, from SNA, pointed out access to the market and information as key points. Clevane Valle, from Instituto Brasil Orgânico, stressed the need for clear standards and less bureaucracy in certification. The panel showed that, with the right strategies, the sector can grow consistently.
