Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is recognized as a source of savings in agriculture. A study by the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, Embrapa, has already found that the practice can yield, in cost reduction, just over R$125 per hectare (2018 data). With new technologies for controlling insect and caterpillar infestations, current possibilities can be even more positive. Among these formulations are two new products from Ourofino Agrociência: the insecticides Vivantha and ÍmparBR.

Vivantha expands the product options for managing sucking pests. The novelty of Ourofino Agrociência also stands out for its control efficiency, broad spectrum of action, flexibility of use, high solubility and systemicity, promoting the cessation of pest attacks, reduction of virus transmission, rapid absorption, better translocation, distribution in the plant , protection and a longer period of control.

“It is a high-performance product in the field, with a lot of potential in both soybean and corn crops, where it acts against the brown stink bug (Euschistus heros) and the whitefly (Bemisia tabaci), and the leafhopper. -corn (Dalbulus maidis) and the green-bellied stink bug (Dichelops melacanthus), respectively”, comments Lenisson Carvalho, the company's Grandes Culturas marketing manager.

In addition to being registered for the two crops mentioned, Vivantha is indicated for cotton and coffee crops, combating, in the former, the flower aphid (Aphis gossypii) and thrips (Frankliniella schultzei), and the leaf miner coffee plant (Leucoptera coffeella), the coffee plant cicada (Quesada gigas) and mealybugs (Dysmicoccus texensis) in coffee plantations.

“In pest control, producers can use a combination of products, seeking to increase the spectrum of action and efficiency, with the use of Vivantha in property management programs being essential”, explains the specialist.

Carvalho also points out that “the product is a very versatile novelty, with a long control period and strong action against sucking pests, with emphasis on the control of the brown stink bug in soybean crops; from the green-bellied stink bug and leafhopper, in corn; of the miner, in the cafe; and whiteflies and aphids in the case of cotton”.

ÍmparBR

The second tool from Ourofino Agrociência is indicated for initial pest management. Intended for seed treatment, it is absorbed by the root system and translocated to the aerial part during the plant germination and growth process. Its record includes rice, corn and wheat crops.

According to Carvalho, ÍmparBR has a great advantage, which is solubility combined with high systematicity in the plant and control performance, which allows the maintenance of the stand at the beginning of cultivation. “Thus, there is better redistribution in the plant, a longer residual period of control and, in addition, it is highly efficient against sucking pests, such as the corn leafhopper and the green-bellied stink bug”, he concludes.
