Owner of a constantly expanding portfolio for sugar cane and coffee, Ourofino Agrociência launches Poderus®. The fungicide, the company's first for sugarcane and important for coffee plantations, arrives on the market with a double mechanism of action, coming from the combination of active ingredients from different chemical groups.

Agronomist Gustavo Vigna, sugarcane marketing manager, explains that the product offers protection in the initial development stage of the sugarcane field, providing the establishment of the stand, in addition to being an excellent tool to protect health in later periods, when applied to the aerial part.

“Its effectiveness in controlling pineapple rot (Ceratocystis paradoxa), brown rust (Puccinia melanocephala), orange rust (Puccinia kuehnii), as well as other minor foliar diseases, makes this a versatile product and can be applied at different times of the year”, advises Vigna.

Precisely because of this flexibility, it can be used both in the sugarcane planting furrow, aiming at the preventive management of soil diseases, as well as being indicated for foliar application to maintain leaf health. Selective, has high systemicity and rapid translocation.

“With a preventive and curative effect, it is a safe option for producers. In performance tests, the solution showed excellent performance compared to other products used on the market”, points out the sugarcane marketing manager.

Regarding coffee, Lenisson Carvalho, marketing manager for large crops, highlights that Poderus® is an important ally for controlling brown-eyed spot or cercosporiosis (Cercospora coffeicola) and coffee rust (Hemileia Vastatrix).

Carvalho highlights the advantage of offering a dual mechanism, a factor that makes it an ideal tool for managing resistance in relation to the targets it acts against. The expert highlights that the fungicide does not cause symptoms of phytotoxicity in the crop.

Further information about Poderus®, as well as the entire portfolio focused on sugarcane and coffee cultivation, can be found on the website ourofinoagro.com.br.

In addition to fungicides, as is the case with the new solution, the company has products registered for different crops, and offers herbicides, insecticides, acaricides and a maturing agent; offers reimagined products, which rely on innovations to deliver better solutions in the specific soil and climate conditions of tropical agriculture.
