Baldan debuts barter with agricultural machinery
Initiative allows exchange of grains for equipment; initiative occurs in partnership with Grão Direto
Orplana (Organization of Associations of Sugarcane Producers of Brazil) and the Agronomic Institute of Campinas (IAC) signed a protocol of intentions on Wednesday to strengthen innovation and sustainability in the sugar-energy sector. The formalization took place during the Cana Show-IAC, in Ribeirão Preto (SP).
The partnership aims to increase the productivity and competitiveness of sugarcane producers. The focus is on sustainable practices, efficient soil and water management, crop rotation and adaptation to climate change.
The agreement provides for the joint development of research, innovation and technology transfer actions. According to Orplana CEO José Guilherme Nogueira, the partnership with IAC will allow science to be brought directly to agricultural practice and accelerate innovation in sugarcane fields.
Technical assistance will also be strengthened and a common strategic agenda will be created. Priority issues include the rational use of natural resources and compliance with environmental requirements, such as the CBIOS program.
