The organizers of Sima ("Salon International des Mutations Agricoles"), a traditional French agricultural fair, announced the cancellation of this year's 2024 edition.

According to their assessment, "the agricultural context becomes more complicated in 2024 with the forecast of a very significant drop in the agricultural equipment market. This situation arises after the Covid crisis, the war in Ukraine, fluctuations in commodity prices- raw materials and energy".

Furthermore, the change in the interest of European farmers from new technologies to demands for more public resources and the imposition of trade barriers on the import of products from outside the European Union may have weighed on the decision.

In the statement from the fair organizers, it also says that "the next edition of Sima will convene new partners in the sector, to promote innovation and agricultural techniques that are the strength of our agriculture. It will be the voice of the sector that uses agricultural equipment and farmers with public authorities".
