Orange producers in Rio Grande do Sul will count, this month, on the support of two instruments from the federal government to sell production and balance fruit market prices in the state. The National Supply Company (Conab) published this Thursday (10) the auction notices for the Premium for Product Flow (PEP) and the Equalizer Award Paid to Rural Producers (Pepro), which will offer subsidies for the flow of 20 thousand tons of fresh orange, from the 2019/2020 harvest, for any region of the country. The operations will be carried out on October 17th, through Conab's Electronic Marketing System.
In the case of Pepro, the auction bidder must be the producer himself or his cooperative, who will be entitled to the incentive as long as he is willing to sell his product for the difference between the minimum price (or the reference value defined by the government) and the value of the Equalizer Award. You must also dispose of the orange under the conditions required by the notice.
The PEP provides a premium opportunity for processors and agribusinesses to purchase the product directly from the rural producer or their cooperative at the pre-determined minimum price, complementing the operation with the delivery of the product outside the state, in this case orange. The limit is 50 tons per purchaser and the premium value is R$0,0909 per kilogram of product.
Those interested in auctions must meet certain requirements, such as deadlines for proving that they are registered on commodity exchanges and are in good standing with the Unified Supplier Registration System (Sicaf), in the Conab Defaulter Registration and Control System (Sircoi) and in others.
