The cotton harvest in Goiás is almost over, after almost two months since the process began. The four regions that cultivate pluma in the state totaled 27.402 hectares, compared to the 25.289 hectares harvested in the previous harvest. The productivity expectation also exceeds that achieved in the 2020/21 harvest, which was 307 @/ha, and should reach 309 @/ha at the end of the calculations.
The first region to complete the harvest was Region 1, made up of the municipalities of Goiatuba, Morrinhos, Palmeiras de Goiás, Itumbiara and Turvelândia. The process concluded on September 9th. The area harvested in the region represents 10,02% of the total area harvested in Goiás.
Region 2, which brings together the municipalities of Caiapônia, Chapadão do Céu, Jataí, Mineiros, Rio Verde, Montividiu and Perolândia, had already harvested 99,67% of its area the previous week and has now completed the work. This value corresponds to 53,81% of the total area of Goiás.
Region 3, which covers the municipalities of Cabeceiras, Cristalina and Luziânia, had also reached 99,74% on the 9th and has now ended its harvest. The registration corresponds to 30,15% of the total at the state level.
In turn, Region 4, formed only by the municipality of Britânia, began harvesting after the other regions and reached 70,68% of its area, a good improvement in relation to the 56,61% recorded in the previous week. However, this percentage represents 4,94% of the entire planted area in Goiás.
The survey is carried out by the Cotton Culture Incentive Fund in Goiás (Fialgo), which monitors the entire harvest period on cotton-producing farms in the state.
Fialgo has also been monitoring the progress of the processing of lint harvested in Goiás. To date, 80,82% of the 2021-2022 cotton harvest has been processed. The percentage was 76,41% on September 9th.
