The 13th Andav Congress takes place one day after another grand agribusiness event in the capital of São Paulo, the ABAG Congress, held by the Brazilian Agribusiness Association, which this year has as its central theme Bio Competitiveness and will deal, among other issues, with geopolitics , sustainability, competitiveness and opportunities.
For Luiz Carlos Corrêa Carvalho, president of ABAG, holding the Andav Congress the day after the Brazilian Agribusiness Congress is timely, as they are two events that debate convergent and important issues, which guide the paths towards growth in our sector.
"This year, our event reflects on how we can further increase the competitiveness of Brazilian agribusiness in the face of numerous external and internal challenges. On the other hand, valuing sustainable initiatives, which preserve biomes and protect natural resources, is a characteristic of our tropical agriculture, being a fundamental advantage compared to the reality of other countries. This topic is strategic for our area and will also be debated at the Andav Congress, which will also reinforce the importance of the distributor of agricultural inputs so that rural producers have access to the main technologies and products, which make a difference in terms of productivity, quality and sustainability", says Carvalho, who will participate in the second day of programming, during the panel "Production, Market and Export: Brazil's Leadership in Food Security".
The Executive President of Andav reinforces this opinion and details the central theme of the Congress. “The choice of the theme 'Brazilian Agroeconomy in First Place: How to ensure our purpose of feeding the world' for the Andav 2024 Congress is strategic, as it puts into focus Brazil's fundamental role as one of the main food producers in the world. In parallel, it is a tribute to the millions of professionals who dedicate their lives to agriculture, and always put Brazilian agriculture first”, he states.
One of the highlights of the Andav Congress program is the presentation of the results of the National Distribution Survey, which always takes place on the third day of the event. The survey is in its 9th edition and is carried out by Andav with the contribution of its more than 3.400 commercial units that help generate information that is used to benefit the sector, providing a detailed analysis of the current distribution market.
With a larger space for each new edition, the Andav Congress provides visitors with many innovations presented by the 250 exhibiting brands, which show the strength of the distribution of agricultural inputs in our country. “Congress offers the unique possibility of connecting industry and the distribution system. It is, in the end, the most important occasion within the routine relationship between this value chain, providing a better understanding of the business environment and the strategies and needs of each of its links”, says Marcelo Ros, Market Access Manager Resales and Redistribution of the Agro Division of BASF.
“The Andav Congress has become an important reference for Brazilian agribusiness and the Agricultural Input Distribution sector and, over the 12 editions held, it has played a vital role for the sector. In addition to being a networking and knowledge updating event for professionals in the field, in 2024, the Congress will be fundamental for us to debate the future of Brazilian food production and how we can continue to enable the sector's efficiency, even in the face of challenges regarding to the market, climate and several other aspects that influence agribusiness”, explains Roberto Dib, Director of Customer Marketing at Syngenta.
