Ourofino Agrociência maintains an intense pace of launches and announcements of news and achievements that enable it to scale its position in the market. An example of this is the achievement of OAS certification, carried out by the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service. The novelty brings several benefits for the import of inputs for the company's formulations of Brazilian origin.
The new “OEA – Conformity Level 2” certificate meets the company’s purpose of Reimagining Brazilian Agriculture. In this way, the process of transporting inputs is carried out more safely and quickly, making it possible to reduce the impacts that can be caused in maritime transport, such as bureaucracy.
According to Ourofino Agrociência's Procurement Director, Barbara Mendes (photo), this certificate proves the company's work to increasingly improve its internal processes. “One of the main factors that encouraged us to apply for certification are the benefits. Of all, mitigating risks and promoting security in the logistics chain are very important.”
“It is important for us to highlight to our partners and customers the security we have in the import chain and this reinforces Ourofino Agrociência’s commitment to quality”, highlights the director.
The process from adaptation to certification lasted almost two years and involved several areas of the company who worked together on this major objective. In fact, being a member of the OEA program puts Ourofino Agrociência on equal terms with major players in the market. This allows for great gains, both for the company and for Brazilian agriculture as a whole.
Barbara says that before starting the process, several necessary criteria were already present in the company's work routine, which facilitated the achievement of this unprecedented milestone for the company. After that, all adaptation work was audited by the OAS, ensuring the rigidity of the processes and certifying the achievement.
In fact, compared to the time without certification, some benefits were already noticed immediately. For example, the registration of cargo on water, which allows immediate release when it arrives at the port and reduces the customs clearance period from nine to five days. This shorter period made it possible to reduce some costs such as accommodation, storage, overtime and demurrage.
Another important factor highlighted by the director is the constant internal and external audits. This ensures that processes are kept in perfect working order, contributing to the excellence of imports and the strengthening of Brazilian agriculture.
