Producing high-quality fruits and vegetables is a major challenge faced by rural producers in all Brazilian states. Nutritionally very demanding and sensitive, the production of fruit and vegetables requires extra attention and care when it comes to nutrition. The search for balance is part of the path that farmers follow when the objective is to produce better quality and larger quantities.
On the property of farmer and businessman Jorge Masato Kano, owner of the company Tomates Kano, specialized in the production and marketing of Grap fruit, a new nutritional strategy with special fluid fertilizers was fundamental to the success of the crop, which has around 90 thousand plants. “I opted for high-tech products to achieve superior results. I noticed that the plant's vigor was very good, due to the excellent development of the roots. I also saw that the flowering became much more beautiful and we no longer had flower abortions, which significantly increased the quantity of fruits by around 30%”, he says.
The agronomist and technical consultant, Ney Assis, who guided and monitored the nutritional management carried out on Jorge's property, explains that the first step was to stimulate the rooting of the plants using the Maxifós fertilizer, composed of humic and fulvic substances, associated with extracts of algae and amino acids.
“The action of Maxifós was fundamental for the development of the plants' root system, not to mention that there was a very significant improvement in the availability of nutrients that were retained in large quantities in the substrates”, explains the agronomist. Ney also reveals that nutritional management was essential to increase post-harvest durability, which pleased product buyers.
“After leaf analysis, we realized that to achieve the expected result, it would be necessary to apply a set of essential nutrients, such as boron, calcium, magnesium and zinc, all wrapped in a high-tech composition that allows rapid absorption and metabolization by plants”, he describes. The agronomist also highlights that copper participated in the management with the important function of inducing plant resistance and contributed to greater fruit durability.
