Nutrien Soluções Agrícolas launched, at the 12th ANDAV Congress, the "Rural Producer Guide – Up to Date with Socio-Environmental Legislation". The material aims to guide and resolve producers' main doubts about standards, legislation and issues related to social and environmental compliance, as well as topics about certifications and rural credit within agribusiness.

“Nutrien is a company aware of its social role and environmental responsibility in the agricultural chain, which is why it has included in its business model the sharing of knowledge and information to the thousands of small and medium-sized rural producers who have relationships with the company. This Rural Producer Guide is yet another tool to help farmers access and understand the main environmental and labor standards that impact agricultural activity. All of this, in uncomplicated and easy-to-read language. In this way, we are taking another step towards moving towards socio-environmental compliance in the field”, he states. Catharina Pires (in the photo), director of corporate affairs at Nutrien for Latin America.

Brazilian environmental legislation is considered one of the most complete and advanced in the world, bringing together a set of standards that determine the appropriate practices to be adopted. In each chapter, the material addresses topics that are part of the rural producer's daily life, such as: environmental licensing, proper disposal of empty pesticide packaging, workplace safety, water use, harvest plan, among others. To make this project viable, the company counted on supporters, such as the solutions company Serasa Experian, Produzindo Certo, an agtech specialized in structuring sustainable agricultural chains and the National Association of Agricultural and Veterinary Input Distributors (Andav).

“For Serasa Experian, disseminating knowledge is as relevant as facilitating access to rural credit, one of the objectives we have wanted to achieve since our arrival in the sector. Furthermore, we believe that using data intelligence and promoting access to relevant content helps producers to do business throughout the agricultural chain and promotes a more sustainable economy, premises that we have also sought through our solutions. Therefore, we understand that supporting this project goes hand in hand with our purpose of providing guidance on credit and ESG issues that are not yet completely clear to rural producers”, comments the head of agribusiness at Serasa Experian, Marcelo Pimenta.

For Aline Locks, CEO of Produzindo Certo, democratizing knowledge to rural producers will generate great gains in farming. “It is extremely important to democratize this technical knowledge, especially among small producers, so that they are in line with socio-environmental legislation. The reduction in information asymmetry will certainly result in greater productive efficiency, profitability and quality of life. This transformation has always been in our essence.”
