Nutrien announces the agreement to acquire Terra Nova, an agricultural inputs retailer operating in Minas Gerais. With the acquisition, Nutrien further expands its presence in Brazil and in an important agricultural region, continuing its strategy of offering integrated solutions to farmers.
"We have identified an excellent opportunity to expand our presence serving Brazilian farmers and are executing our strategy to build the best and largest agricultural solutions platform. With today's announcement, we have added four acquisitions in the last 18 months that drive our value and support our goals of expansion with the increase in the number of physical stores and specialized consultants", says André Dias, president of Nutrien for Latin America.
With the acquisition, the company will have 9 additional stores to its network, totaling 33 in Brazil. The total revenue from this business is approximately R$250 million. Nutrien intends to combine Terra Nova's knowledge and experience with the company's global skills to offer the best services and products to the farmer at all decision-making moments throughout the harvest. "Terra Nova has developed a commercial approach that brings important competitive advantages to establish Nutrien as a leader in agricultural retail in Minas Gerais", concludes Dias.
