Australian Nufarm was present at this year's Amipa Field Day, held in the city of Patos de Minas by the Minas Gerais Association of Cotton Producers. On the occasion, almost 500 cotton farmers passed by the Nufarm stand, to learn about field results linked to the acaricide Smite, the herbicide Crucial, the defoliant Punto and the ripener CottonQuik, from the company's portfolio for the State's cotton sector.

During the meeting, Nufarm's Trade Marketing coordinator, Fabrício Jardine, highlighted that the Smite acaricide has become a reference among products recommended for managing mites in cotton, mainly in relation to the two-spotted mite.

Regarding the CottonQuik ripener and the Punto defoliant, the executive highlighted that applied in accordance with the company's recommendations, the two products promote the opening of fruits and the so-called 'defoliation', to facilitate harvesting operations.

“The action of these products allows the defoliation and total opening of viable apples, in addition to better use of the bolls and the preservation of the final quality of the fiber”, reinforced Jardine.

The Nufarm executive also detailed to visitors the competitive advantages of the Crucial herbicide, already applied to more than 70 million hectares of Brazilian crops, in different crops. “Also on cotton, this product acts more quickly, compared to other glyphosates, on weeds that are difficult to control, especially during rainy periods”, emphasized Jardine.

“Nufarm’s presence at the Minas Gerais Association of Cotton Producers event reinforces our commitment to strengthening ties with cotton farming in the State. We work hard in this region of the country to guarantee producers’ access to innovative solutions that contribute to the good economic performance of their crops”, stated Jardine at the end of the event.
