Nufarm highlights portfolio of solutions for controlling pests, diseases and invasive coffee plants at Simcafé

The 9th edition of Simcafé – Agribusiness Coffee Symposium – takes place from April 11th ​​to 12th, in Franca, in the interior of the state of São Paulo. The event is held by Cocapec - Cooperative of Coffee Growers and Farmers, with a focus on innovation, recent research and technologies that help coffee growers increase productivity.

The Australian company Nufarm will launch the systemic fungicide Tamiz at its stand, which is recommended for controlling coffee rust and also the herbicide Sumyzin SC, now registered for the management of the main weeds.

“Tamiz is based on the active ingredients strobirulin and tebuconazole and its SE formulation (suspicious emulsion) provides greater absorption speed, which results in better performance and effectiveness in controlling coffee rust”, highlights the fungicide manager at Nufarm, engineer agronomist Carulina Oliveira.

During Simcafé, Nufarm also highlights a portfolio of solutions aimed at managing crop pests and weeds, in addition to field results obtained with the insecticides Abamex and Klorpan.

According to Nufarm's Trade Marketing coordinator, agronomist Fabrício Jardine, the pair of insecticides Abamex and Klorpan provide an excellent standard of control of the coffee borer and coffee leaf miner and provide a superior cost-benefit ratio to the so-called standard treatment of the producer. “Field results show that these products also act with high efficiency on the red mite and cochineal, insects that are potentially harmful to the coffee plantation”, highlights the executive.

Specifically for weed control, Nufarm's technical team shows the differences of the Crucial herbicide, a product formulated with 'double salt' technology and already applied to more than 70 million hectares of crops in Brazil, in different crops. “Crucial is an ally for the coffee grower in controlling the weeds of viola-corda, trapoeraba, picão-preto, false-serralha and others that compete for nutrients with the coffee plant and reduce crop productivity”, explains Jardine.

The Australian company also showcases the Nufarm Care program at the Franca event, focused on the safe and sustainable use of agrochemicals.
