The executive secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa), Eumar Novacki, will head the Brazilian mission to Tehran, Iran, from the 11th (Monday) to the 13th (Wednesday). The mission aims to deepen commercial relations between the two countries and attract investment into Brazilian agribusiness sectors.
The agenda includes bilateral meetings with government authorities. Meetings are planned with the deputy minister of Industry, Mines and Trade and president of the Iran Trade Promotion Organization, Mojtaba Khosrowtaj, deputy minister of Agriculture and member of the Jihad Esteghlal Company, Arzhang Javadi.
The program includes a business round with the participation of Brazilian representatives from the meat, soy, corn, biodiesel and ethanol, sugar and fish sectors. They will present their product portfolios and projects to potential buyers and investors to attract investment.
The Brazil-Iran Chamber of Commerce organized technical visits in the meat, grains and nuts sectors. The Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries (Abiec), which is part of the delegation, will promote a barbecue for Iranian guests.
In addition to executive secretary Eumar Novacki, the Mapa delegation is made up of the director of International Agribusiness Promotion, Evaldo da Silva Júnior, and the coordinator of Commercial Promotion, Christyanne Kasper.
Fourth in the ranking of Brazilian agricultural trade exports, Iran imported US$ 2,2 billion last year. From January to July this year, purchases mainly of corn, soybeans, fresh beef and sugar reached US$1,5 billion.
