NEXAT System Tractor wins gold medal at Agritechnica 2022
Defined by the company as a "holistic plant production system", NEXAT appears to be a large tractor with a curious shape, which can couple modules to work at different stages of cultivation.

With 164 qualified entries, the leading innovation awards scheme for the international agricultural machinery industry has announced one gold and 16 silver award winners. One innovation received a gold medal and 16 innovations received a silver medal.
The winner of the Gold Innovation Award was the NEXAT System Tractor, a transport vehicle that can be used for all agricultural production work, from plowing and seeding to protection and harvesting. Instead of conventional transport, implements for farming and cultivation are transported. This leads to greater efficiency compared to tractor and trailed implement combinations. With the 14 meter version, the system is designed in such a way that 95% of the total field area is never driven in the intended bed mode, resulting in high yield potentials with good soil and environmental protection.
NEXAT works with different coupled modules
NEXAT was designed as an autonomous work machine and is equipped with a peripheral monitoring system. A cabin that can be rotated 270° is available for process monitoring. This lays the basis for fully automated operation of the machine and allows manual guidance of the vehicle during transport. The integrated implements are mounted between the four large electrically driven track reducers, which can be rotated through 90° for road travel. Power is currently supplied by two independent diesel engines, each offering 400 kW/545 hp, with generators. The vehicle is designed for alternative drive technologies such as fuel cells.
Spray module
With the integrated module of the NexCo combine, NEXAT achieves grain yields of 130 to 200 t/h for the first time. A 5,8 m long axial rotor mounted transversely to the direction of travel is used in the innovative threshing concept. The flow of harvested material is introduced centrally into the rotor and at a tangent to achieve energy efficiency. The rotor divides it into two material streams. This allows approximately twice the threshing performance of conventional machines and establishes the prerequisite for even distribution and straw with two choppers, even with a cutting width of 14 meters.
Corn and sunflower harvesting module
Grain delivery is ensured by a 36 m³ grain bunker, which means that the combine unit does not need a transfer vehicle in fields of normal length. Transfer to the transport vehicle can take place on the headland; With a discharge capacity of 600 l/s, the process only takes about a minute. The NEXAT-NexCo combination therefore gives rise to a completely new dimension of threshing performance when the transport vehicle is used all year round. The concept heralds a paradigm shift in agriculture and should be seen positively in terms of resource saving and ecology.
