Grain production in Brazil has been growing year after year, but the evolution of the country's storage capacity has not kept pace. According to official data from Conab (National Supply Company), the grain storage deficit in 2017 reached 74 million tons.

This scenario is not only faced by large producers, the possibility of drying and storing grains on rural properties is a more economical alternative and widely used by family farming. Aware of this need, companies in the sector will take to Expoagro Afubra - the largest fair focused on family farming in Brazil - the main news in relation to drying and storage materials. The event takes place from March 20th to 22nd, in the town of Rincão Del Rey, in Rio Pardo.

“It is the main fair for direct contact with family farming producers, who are our target audience, especially the tobacco sector where we have been one of the main producers for over 27 years”, says Fernando Ronchi, director of Turbo Ferro, a company Santa Catarina, a reference in the south of the country in the supply of silos, greenhouses, warehouses and solar energy.

There will be 400 exhibitors present who will address various topics, including the tobacco sector, family farming and sustainable energy models such as photovoltaic modules. In agribusiness, photovoltaic panels have been expanding in family farming, due to the credit line encouraged by Pronaf Eco, the National Program for Strengthening Family Agriculture, aimed at financing renewable energy and environmental sustainability.

Given the growth of the solar energy market, the Ministry of Agrarian Development (MDA) has been registering and accrediting companies that provide photovoltaic solar energy systems. “To be registered, we had to meet several requirements and certifications, which is why we can offer the Solar Inove system, which can be financed in up to 10 years with interest of 2,5% per year”, says the director of Turbo Ferro.

In addition to direct contact with producers, Expoagro Afubra is also a great opportunity for new business and partnerships. “Turbo Ferro’s goal with Solar Inove is to consolidate itself by 2020 as the main distributor of solar energy in the south of the country. Therefore, events like Afubra are suitable environments for developing new partnerships”, highlights Ronchi.
