Technicians from the National Supply Company (Conab) travel through the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina to re-register private warehouses. The activities are part of the census carried out by the Company and allow collecting information such as identification, capacity and technical qualification of the Storage Units.

In Santa Catarina, visits begin this Thursday (19) and should cover 12 municipalities in the south of the state. In these locations, the work will be focused on updating data, since the properties already have registration. According to information from the latest census carried out by Conab, the southern micro-region of Santa Catarina, made up of 171 warehouses, with a total static capacity of 588 thousand tons, distributed in 16 conventional units with space for 40 thousand tons and another 155 silos with a capacity for 540 thousand tons. In the next stage of the census in Santa Catarina, Conab will visit the deposits located in the mountainous region.

In Paraná, the census ends this Friday (20). The work began in the first week of this month and focused on the micro-regions of Paranavaí, Cianorte, Umuarama, Goioerê and Campo Mourão. The expectation is to complete visits to 424 warehouses in the northwest and central western regions of the state. The Company's technicians have already re-registered 805 warehouses in the north, central and southeast of the state of Paraná. Paraná is the second largest storage in the country, with approximately 18% of the national static capacity.

The census information is used to feed the National Registration System for Storage Units (Sicarm) and is essential to guarantee the registration that allows storage units to begin the process that enables the storage of Federal Government products. The system's information also helps farmers make logistical decisions, is used by the government as a basis for designing public policies to support the sector and also serves as a source for research in Brazil and abroad.
