Until the 26th of this month, the National Supply Company (Conab) carries out inspection operations to inspect the conditions of products stored in its own Storage Units and also in those of third parties. The actions began on the 15th and will take place in 65 storage units in the states of Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Paraná and São Paulo.
Among the main objectives of this operation are to determine the quality and quantity conditions of stocks and evaluate the technical-operational situation of the depository storage units. In total, more than 770 thousand tons of products such as rice, coffee, corn, wheat, sacks and various processed or manufactured products will be inspected.
This is the eighth stage of inspection of public stocks carried out by Conab in the country. Since the first stage, more than 3,4 million tons of products have been inspected. After the due diligence, when possible deviations are found, in addition to administrative processes, the cases are forwarded to the Federal Police, the Federal Public Ministry, the Federal Revenue Service and the state Finance Department. In cases relating to losses in own warehouses, they are passed on to Conab's Storage and Logistics Superintendence for action. For third-party warehouses, the Company carries out the appropriate administrative charges.
