The public visiting the 21st edition of Expodireto Cotrijal – one of the largest international agribusiness fairs, which takes place between the 2nd and 6th of March in Não-Me-Toque (RS) – will be able to see up close one of the main novelties of presented by New Holland Agriculture, a CNH Industrial brand: the concept of an affordable tractor.

During the traditional agricultural fair in Rio Grande do Sul, the equipment will be shown at the brand's stand, along with other machinery, including compact tracked tractors from the TK4 line – exclusive to New Holland in the country – and those from the T7 family, with high power and high performance.

The TL5 concept tractor is adapted for people with reduced mobility. The equipment was designed to provide equal working conditions for everyone in the field, offering comfort, safety and performance – all in a single vehicle model. Promoting inclusion and access for all audiences is one of New Holland Agriculture's concerns.

How does it work?

The tractor is equipped with a lifting platform and a joystick, with which the operator controls the movements necessary to carry out his own boarding/disembarking, having access to the control platform, which has been adapted to facilitate operations, with good ergonomics. and maintaining internal space.

The idea of a customized tractor for any type of special need, built in partnership with the company Elevittá, which has great know-how in this type of functionality, was born from one of the pillars of New Holland Agriculture, which is to be a brand accessible to everyone, as explained by New Holland Agriculture's Product Marketing Director for South America, Cláudio Calaça Júnior.

“We believe that it is possible to take the accessibility of the brand and products to a new level. We are keeping an eye on this and are willing to develop solutions that help with work in the field, whether for a person with reduced mobility or some other special need”, points out Calaça. As it is a concept, the affordable tractor will still need to undergo validation tests to reach the market. For now, there is no prediction of when this will occur.

The TL5 family of tractors, in turn, which is available at dealers, is ideal for everyday multitasking. The line has three different types of transmission, versions with Power shuttle reverser, with or without cabin and various tire configuration options. Furthermore, it is equipped with an FPT S8000 MAR I engine, with an excellent torque/power ratio.

Full harvest estimate

Brazil is expecting a full harvest this year, as weather conditions in this cycle are more favorable than in the previous harvest. The estimate from the National Supply Company (Conab), released at the beginning of February, signals a 3,8% growth in grain production in the country for 2020, with a total projected volume of 251,1 million tons. The number is mainly driven by soybean and corn crops. In total, the country should harvest another 9,1 million tons this year.

In Rio Grande do Sul, however, the drought initially affected many crops, such as soybeans and corn. But according to Emater-RS, crops have been slowly recovering thanks to the increase in rainfall in the state. Even so, according to Conab's estimate, RS should see a 6,2% reduction in the current grain harvest, with the expectation of harvesting 33,37 million tons between the summer and winter harvests. Currently, according to the latest survey by Emater-RS, 37% of soybean crops in Rio Grande do Sul are in the vegetative development phase, 36% in flowering and 27% in grain filling.

But even with the drought and the reduction in the estimated planted area, RS should see a slight increase in the volume of rice produced in the state: 0,6% in relation to the last harvest, according to Conab. Gauchos produce more than 80% of the cereal consumed in the country and this year's harvest is expected to reach 10,51 million tons.

Tk4: bulldozers safely

The result of more than 90 years of experience in the segment, New Holland Agriculture will also take its new line of tracked tractors to Expodireto Cotrijal: the TK4. Imported to the Brazilian market since last year, this differentiated family of tractors has elevated the brand to global leadership in the segment, holding its exclusive production rights. Among the highlights is the TK4.80N ROPS, with rollover protection technology.

Admittedly, only New Holland in the world produces tracked tractors in the power range below 100 hp with high technology and in reduced dimensions of minimum overall width, gauge, length and wheelbase. Produced at the Jesi plant, in Italy, New Holland brings two models for Brazilian rural producers: TK4.80N (75hp), platform, with the option of a rubber track (300mm wide) or metal (310mm wide); and the T4K.100M (100hp) platform or cab, with metal track (450mm wide). Both models are equipped with 4 cm³ FPT Industrial F5C Common Rail 3400-cylinder engines.

The new TK4 models are designed to protect the operator against heat, noise and vibrations. The tractors are equipped with a ROPS structure (rollover protection) while the cab models also have “silent block” insulation panels, reducing vibrations and heat, as well as the transfer of noise from the engine and transmission to the operator. Efficient air conditioning brings more thermal comfort and makes all the difference in operation.

The tracks guarantee greater traction capacity and less soil compaction during operations. Furthermore, they offer greater stability and better weight distribution, ideal qualities for areas with high slopes. The center of gravity closer to the ground guarantees greater stability and safety during operations. “The new TK4 arrive to meet the needs of customers who have areas in regions with steep topography. It was thinking about offering the best solution for rural producers that we selected this innovative family of tractors. These are tractors that can work where no other can go”, says Juliano Perelli, Marketing specialist at New Holland Agriculture.

Line T7

Another line of tractors that will be at Expodireto Cotrijal is the T7. Multitasking equipment, New Holland presents the evolution of high-power tractors in the T7 tractor line, with emphasis on the T7.260 LWB, 234 hp. The T7 family also includes the T7.240 (197 hp) and T7.245 (213 hp) models.

They are all robust equipment, which have a new hydraulic pump increasing their flow from 151 liters per minute to 180 l/min. The new configuration allows for more agility in operations with implements that require a higher flow rate.

The tractors also feature a new class 3 drawbar, which supports the largest implements available on the market for its category. “The entire assembly was reinforced, including hitch pins, bar dimensions and support”, says Nilson Righi, Marketing Manager at New Holland Agriculture. Furthermore, the front axle and wheel hubs were also reinforced, further increasing the reliability of the T7 line.

The new T7 line had improvements in the automatic adjustment option when changing gears, called Autoshift. This improvement allows gear changes to be carried out at the ideal engine speed and torque, offering the best performance in the most varied field situations.
