New Holland Agriculture, a CNH Industrial brand, is expanding its line of PL 7000 planters, aimed at planting on large and medium-sized properties. Launched in 2020, with options of 61 and 48 rows, the family of planters now has a version with 27 rows and 3 sections, with a spacing between rows of 45 cm. The new PL 7027 was designed to serve farmers who seek greater operational efficiency by planting only seeds and who need the agility to change areas inside and outside the property.

According to Cláudio Calaça Júnior, Director of Product Marketing at New Holland Agriculture for South America, transportability, seed monitoring and variable rate planting are some of the PL 7027's distinguishing features. “It is a versatile piece of equipment that includes embedded precision agriculture that has superior operational gain and distribution quality, offering the producer greater versatility, which is reflected in more productivity in the field”, he highlights.

Ease of transportation is one of the highlights of the new planter, both inside and outside the property. “This model in transport mode is 3,2 m wide, making it easier to move when pulled by a tractor or on a trailer. It is also important to highlight the high capacity of the seed reservoirs (5.440 liters of seeds), that is, enough to plant approximately 80 hectares without the need for refilling. These characteristics result in great planting autonomy, which combined with the concept of reducing grease points, gives the tractor and planter combination excellent efficiency and agility in operation”, explains Rogério Miyasawa, Product Marketing specialist at New Holland Agriculture.

In addition to the operational performance points, this planter model maintains all the distribution quality points already recognized in New Holland planters, favoring optimal implementation and the expression of the entire genetic potential of the crop.

Just like the larger models, with 5 sections (61 and 48 lines), this model also has an adjustable pressure transfer system from the central section to the wings via hydraulic cylinders, improving weight distribution on the lines and cutting discs.

In order to meet the differences between regions and soil types, the PL 7027 has two types of cutting discs as an option: corrugated and grooved, both 20”, with configuration possible at the time of ordering.

Precision Agriculture

New Holland planters are compatible with the main precision agriculture technologies available on the market. The PL 7027 comes standard with an ISOBUS control module, which, together with the tractor monitor, manages the rate control system (using hydraulic motors), the seed monitoring sensors and the opening and closing of the wings. For machines with the optional section cutting system, the module is also responsible for this management.

Section cutting is done by flexible transmission cables with shutdown clutch and by the module that groups and controls up to 24 sections. To manage maps, it may be necessary to activate additional releases on the monitors used.

In the PL 7000 line, the machine comes with distribution discs and singulators for corn and soybeans (27 and 56 holes). For other crops or special needs, it is possible to purchase other types of discs from the parts department of your New Holland dealer.
