New Holland Agriculture, a CNH Industrial brand, presents at Agrishow 2022, which takes place from April 25th to 29th in Ribeirão Preto (SP), its wide range of agricultural tractors, designed to meet the needs of all producer profiles. Among the new features at the brand's stand are the T5.110 S, a tractor that adds strength, robustness, comfort and reliability, and is ideal for long working hours.

Also present at the agricultural fair – which this year reaches its 27th edition – will be the T6 Methane Power, the first tractor powered by biomethane in the world. It opens a new category of agricultural machinery, innovating the use of cleaner fuels and reducing emissions by up to 80% compared to diesel tractors.

Just like the biomethane tractor, the new T8 and T9 PLM Intelligence feature factory-built connectivity. Both are high-power machines combined with digital technology, capable of generating real-time telemetry and agronomic data that help producers make quick decisions.

Technology, strength and robustness

Among the main highlights on the New Holland shelf is the T5.110 S, a medium power tractor that is now available to Brazilian producers. “This tractor is a sales success in the countries where it was launched. It comes to expand our portfolio based on differences such as technology, strength, robustness, reliability, comfort and simplicity of operation, together with technical characteristics that allow us to meet the most diverse types of implements”, highlights the Product Marketing director at New Holland Agriculture for Latin America, Cláudio Calaça Júnior.

According to Calaça, the brand's objective is to further expand the supply of medium-power tractors in the country. In general terms, the T5.110 S presents better transmission, hydraulic and power take-off performance and efficiency, making it very competitive in a market aimed at small and medium-sized professional farmers.

The T5.110 S also adds highlights to its configuration that make it one of the most complete and powerful tractors in its category, equipped with an FPT S8000 TIER 3 engine, with 4 cylinders and 111hp of nominal power. With a transmission called Electro Command™, 16x16, Semi Automatic type (Semi PowerShift), with 4 speeds and 4 ranges, combined with an electro-hydraulic reverser system, smooth gear changes and the comfort of a spacious cabin and silent, it is the perfect tractor for the farmer who spends long hours operating in the field. The 540/540E/1000 power take-off options and 5200 kg hydraulic lifting capacity allow work with different types of implements and operating conditions.

Biomethane tractor

The world's first tractor powered by methane gas, which is being commercially launched in the country, will be another major attraction at New Holland's stand at Agrishow. Presented to the public at agricultural fairs Show Rural Coopavel (PR), Expodireto Cotrijal (RS) and Tecnoshow Comigo (GO), T6 Methane Power, manufactured in Basildon, England, arrives in Brazil via import.

The biomethane tractor opens a new segment of agricultural machinery, due to its innovation in the use of alternative fuels that are more environmentally friendly, and which deliver the same energy and operational efficiency as a conventional tractor. It can use gas from sugarcane operations or animal waste, for example, as fuel, taking advantage of environmental liabilities and transforming them into assets by generating their own fuel and ceasing to use diesel oil, which which produces a significant reduction in operating costs.

The T6.180 Methane Power had been tested in Brazil since 2017 and was presented at Agrishow itself in 2019, still as a prototype. Recently, as a final product, it was chosen as Sustainable Tractor of the Year 2022 during EIMA International, a world fair that showcases new agricultural machinery, which took place in October 2021 in Bologna, Italy.

“This type of tractor gives the rural producer or the plant the possibility of using the biogas generated within the property to supply the equipment, taking advantage of the so-called virtuous cycle of the property, which becomes increasingly self-sufficient from an energy point of view and environmentally correct. . And as an extra, it also has the reduction of its operating costs and peace of mind in managing its activities, as it becomes self-sufficient in the production and use of fuel, being free from all the uncertainties of the fossil fuel market”, says Calaça.

Since 2006, when New Holland launched its Clean Energy Leader strategy, followed by the launch in 2013 of the first methane-powered T6 series tractor prototype, the brand has repeatedly emphasized its commitment to meeting its environmental targets and contributing to the reduction of CO2.

To achieve this, the T6.180 Methane Power features a redesigned six-cylinder FPT NEF engine, producing 175 hp like its diesel equivalent, with up to 30% lower operating costs. Gas injectors and spark plugs replace the diesel injector, with gas injected into each cylinder for constant, clean, maximized combustion. Compared to the limits permitted by EU Stage V emissions rules, the carbon monoxide emissions of the methane-powered T6.180 are 80% lower.

T8 and T9 PLM Intelligence

In the line of high-power tractors, New Holland's highlights are the new T8 and T9 PLM Intelligence, which feature a completely remodeled factory-embedded electronic architecture aimed at digital, connected and high-performance agriculture. The T8 and T9 PLM Intelligence tractors bring a new concept that seeks to improve efficiency, delivering greater productivity with lower operating costs.

The PLM (Precision Land Management) Intelligence brings, among other benefits, a set of high technology and capacity to meet the demand for precision agriculture in the field. The total connectivity of these tractors allows, for example, better fleet management, control and support in agricultural operations, as they will be fully connected with the brand's new portals, Mynewholland, for support and training, and Myplmconnect, for telemetry .

With this 100% connected technology, the rural producer will save on seeds, chemical pesticides, fuel and, at the same time, improve the management of the machine fleet, thus optimizing the time of agricultural operations and labor, always having at hand important information that will help you make decisions in real time and manage the property in the best possible way.

The new T8 PLM Intelligence family was created to meet the expectations of customers looking for high-power tractors. The benefits include: reducing the operating window, with greater productivity; reduction in fixed costs and labor expenses with better tractor performance; connectivity and telemetry for greater control and availability; more comfort and ergonomics for the operator, with a cabin with user-friendly 360-degree visibility and intuitive controls.

Another new feature is the Full PowerShift Ultra Command 21x5 transmission, which will equip the T8.430 and T8.440 tractors. With new components and assembly processes, the new transmission provides greater robustness and durability, supporting more weight and power, in addition to ensuring maximum comfort and efficiency. The set also has Autoshift mode (GSM), which controls the tractor's speed and chooses the best engine speed with the appropriate gear for the implement's load.

The T9 PLM Intelligence – an established machine in the high-power tractor market – is equipment that meets the most demanding planting and soil preparation demands, even with the largest and heaviest implements. The new generation of tractor, which is articulated, is now prepared for the digital and connected era, serving all customer profiles, from those seeking greater performance at low cost to those who value connectivity and services. It is an ideal machine for medium and large areas and aimed at producers looking for the best performance with low operating costs.

The T9 PLM Intelligence is a tractor designed, for example, for soil preparation, especially in Cerrado crops, such as soybeans, corn and cotton. Due to its strength, robustness – and with all-wheel drive – it is the ideal machine for pulling larger planters, for example. The machine also has real-time tire inflation control and can also be applied to implements with tires. It is possible to monitor up to 16 tires simultaneously. The system can be programmed to issue alerts in the event of low pressure.
