New executive director of business is sworn in at Embrapa

Researcher Ana Margarida Castro Euler was appointed as the company's executive director of Business. At the same time, livestock farmer Teresa Cristina Corpa Vendramini, former president of the Brazilian Rural Society (SRB), assumed the position of independent advisor, appointed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa).

The new director expressed her honor and highlighted the inspiring role of women: "women inspire new women. We have the challenge and mission of inspiring future generations and that is very important."

Ana Euler is a forestry engineer, with a master's degree and doctorate in Environmental and Forestry Sciences from the Graduate School of Environment and Information Science - Yokohama National University, Japan. She joined Embrapa in 2008, through a public competition, and worked at the Embrapa Amapá Unit, where I also worked as an international coordinator.

With 20 years of experience living and working in the Amazon, 15 of which were dedicated to the state of Amapá, Ana Euler has an extensive career in the area. Before joining Embrapa, she worked as a specialized technician in Amazon Conservation at WWF-Brazil and was director-president of the State Forestry Institute. His studies at Embrapa involve community forest management, governance and territorial development, socio-biodiversity value chains, ecosystem services and public policies. Currently, she is also a member of the Steering Committee of Embrapa's Amazon Portfolio.

In addition to her work in Brazil, Ana Euler had significant international experience. For a year and a half, she developed a postdoctoral project in France, as part of the Embrapa Visiting Scientist Program, in collaboration with IRD and Cirad, two French research institutions.

When talking about her time at the visiting scientist program in France, the new director of Embrapa highlighted the importance of the company's reputation and the opportunities for partnerships and strategic positioning in major agendas such as the Climate Agenda and the Trade Agenda.
