This weekend, a cold front will impact southern Brazil, bringing severe instability and heavy rainfall. Following rainfall of up to 70 mm in the region, a cold air mass will cause temperatures to drop, with the possibility of frost in Rio Grande do Sul early next week (25) due to the low temperatures forecast for the region.

The system is also expected to advance over parts of the Central-West, dropping temperatures in Mato Grosso do Sul on Saturday (23) and Mato Grosso on Sunday (24). The capitals of these states are expected to record maximum temperatures of around 25°C and 30°C, respectively. It is also worth noting that the lowest temperatures will be concentrated in the western half of the state of Mato Grosso.

On Monday (25), the cold air mass is expected to reach the states of Rondônia and Acre, with a minimum temperature of 20°C in the respective capitals. The drop is expected to be 5°C in Porto Velho and 3°C in Rio Branco. In addition, temperatures could drop up to 3°C in southern Amazonas. This event is expected to be the seventh cold spell in 2025.
