Integration of agricultural activities with beekeeping and meliponiculture
Bees and agricultural activity can and should coexist in balance, with mutual benefits
This Monday, July 20, a new cloud of locusts from Paraguay was detected in the Province of Formosa, Argentina. With the heat of the last few days in the region, the insects began to move again and put authorities on alert. In Rio Grande do Sul, monitoring was reinforced due to the proximity of the plague to the Brazilian border.
According to information from the National Agro-Food Health and Quality Service (Senasa), the insects were found on National Route 86, more specifically at kilometer 1789, in Guadalcázar, in the province of Formosa.
Senasa's monitoring work remains intense. Last Saturday, July 18, a cloud had moved from the south of the department of Curuzú Cuatiá to the department of Molho, 45 km from the border with the Feliciano department, of Entre Rios. For several weeks, the teams carried out awareness raising tasks among the Entre Ríos population, as well as surveillance for the early detection of insects, due to the probability of the entry that finally materialized.
