The members elected for the 2024-2028 management of the Lar Cooperativa Advisory Council began work with the new group of leaders. The first official meeting was held at Associação Recreativa Lar, in Medianeira, Paraná (PR), at the beginning of this month.
Irineo da Costa Rodrigues, CEO of Lar, highlighted that the Cooperative needs to have strong governance, and the Advisory Council plays an important role in training leaders from the member base. “In other words, developing talents provides opportunities for personal and professional growth, all linked to the advancement of the Cooperative, which requires training from everyone”, he stated.
On this occasion, associate Lauro Soethe, from Santa Helena (PR), was elected to the General Coordination of the Advisory Council and associate Jozimar Begnini, from Serranópolis do Iguaçu (PR), to the position of secretary. Both names were unanimously approved during the meeting and will perform the role until 2028, when the group's mandate ends with new elections.
“The Advisory Council is a fantastic group, I am a witness, I myself helped to format the proposal when I was on Lar's Executive Board, so I know the relevance that the group has, its strength in representing the members. It is another tool that came for the good of the Cooperative, which allows us to train, an obligation for everyone to overcome the challenges”, highlighted Soethe.
The elected secretary, Jozimar Begnini, highlighted the member's involvement in the relationship with the Cooperative. “The member is the future of the Cooperative, so he has to participate actively, question when necessary, but also contribute with suggestions. That's cooperating. Lar needs committed people and the Advisory Board is another space that provides opportunities for this mission,” he added.
In activity since 2021, the Advisory Council is made up of 84 leaders, all elected in their respective units, according to the activity they perform and as long as they meet the requirements present in Lar Cooperativa's Bylaws.
The Educational Action Advisory will be responsible for monitoring and providing support to the work of the Advisory Council. At the first meeting, the Resolution was presented to inform leaders about the group's responsibilities, functioning and areas of activity. CEO Irineo da Costa Rodrigues also introduced members to the role of the Advisory Board and the leader, highlighting their importance for the future of an organization.
The program included a lecture on security on rural properties, with investigator and civil police officer Rosana Botelho. The objective was to train, inform and join efforts to promote a safer and more protected rural environment. In her speech, Rosana Botelho highlighted the challenges of violence and crime faced by rural families, explored preventive measures and encouraged collaboration and solidarity among community members, through initiatives such as the Military Police Rural Patrol Program and mutual support groups involving the community.
The date for the first appointment of the new management of the Advisory Council was chosen strategically to allow the group to participate in Lar Week Cooperativism, where it was possible to learn in detail an overview of the Cooperative and its impact on the community.
