Netafim, a drip irrigation solutions company, participates in the 31st Official Opening of the Rice and Grains Harvest, from February 9th to 11th, at the Terras Baixas Experimental Station of Embrapa Clima Temperado, located in the city of Capão do Leão (RS) . The purpose of the event is to develop and integrate the agricultural sector in the southern region of the country. The event will bring together producers from different regions of the country, agronomists and technicians, political agents, the main research and teaching institutions in the sector, as well as the companies that invest the most in agricultural technology in the world. This year the fair turns 31 years old and expects the participation of many people in the area, including agribusiness entrepreneurs, rural producers, researchers, students and other professionals linked to the sector.

For Netafim, participation in this event is essential, as the cultivation of rice and grains is extremely important. Today, one of the biggest problems faced by rice producers is low productivity and increased costs in areas where only monoculture is practiced. Thinking about bringing new solutions to the producing regions, Netafim will participate in the event and bring a project design that will meet the needs of producers and bring more profitability and economic resources to crops. “The rice production model has to undergo changes to remain viable in the long term and bring food security to the population and to this end we will bring to the fair an innovative solution with a very interesting economic viability for the producer, with a quick return on investment, with durability and reliability, bringing total control of water in the field and the possibility of crop rotation. Events like this allow us to get closer to partners and customers, new learning and business opportunities”, highlights Marketing Director, Carlos Sanches.

The South Region of the country produces four of every five grains of rice harvested in Brazil, accounting for more than 80% of the national harvest.

“This number shows that our bet is pertinent: we have high consumption that requires large production, plus the external market to supply. It is necessary to have increasingly effective technologies to meet market needs and Netafim is focused on this path”, concludes Sanches.
