Netafim's unprecedented model guarantees end-to-end solutions

The company presents a business model that guarantees solutions for those who are already irrigators and those who want to become irrigators. Among the new features is subscription irrigation

The development of technologies has brought about overwhelming changes in several sectors and agriculture is no different. Useful and efficient, they provide cost and time savings and, in most cases, add quality to what they offer consumers.

For this reason, Netafim, a pioneering company and world leader in irrigation solutions, innovates once again and presents the Netafim Services, a new end-to-end business model that guarantees solutions for those who are already irrigators and for those who want to be.

The new Netafim Services seeks, through the provision of different types of services, to improve relationships with its customers, ensuring the success of projects and accelerating the transfer of know-how and technologies relating to localized irrigation.

The project presents three plan options to the farmer. One of them, derived from a software industry concept known as SaaS (Software as a Service), brings to the market a new concept of subscription irrigation or IaaS (Irrigation as a Service). In this model, Netafim plans, designs, installs, operates and maintains irrigation systems, through a monthly subscription, without the need for large initial investments!

“People today are more likely to pay to live the experiences provided by purchases than simply owning or owning an asset. This business model already works on a large scale in the vehicle, entertainment and IT markets, for example, and is now here to stay in the irrigation market”, says Caio Macedo, commercial services manager at Netafim.

According to Macedo, the company understands that we are in the era of the recurrence economy where a new business model, also known as the “subscription economy”, is the result of the revolution in commercial relations that replaces the idea of ​​ownership of a good or product with concept of its use or benefit.

In addition to the subscription irrigation plan, the customer has two other main offers that complete their service portfolio: Annual service plans and operation and maintenance plans.

The Annual Service Plans function as technical and agronomic consultancy focused on irrigation and fertigation. With it, those who already have an irrigation system can have the company's experience and its experts as consultants for their team to optimize the operation, maximize the return on investment and reduce risks in its execution.

The Operation and Maintenance plan is also dedicated to those who already have an irrigation system, but in this plan, in addition to consultancy, Netafim assumes all daily operation and preventive maintenance of the system. This gives the owner complete peace of mind to focus on his business and production.

Netafim's CEO in Brazil and Mercosur, Ricardo Almeida, highlights that innovation is in the company's DNA and that the proposal for launches and new features always revolve around the pillars of sustainability and economy, both water and producers' resources.

“Through this new business model, it is possible for the producer to have a complete irrigation system, paying monthly fees, similar to subscription services for machines, cars and entertainment. Therefore, there is no need for large initial investments, transforming Capex into Opex, simplifying operations and maximizing end-to-end success in projects”, said Almeida.
