National Monetary Council makes adjustments to the direction of Funcafé resources

Resources were reallocated that had been allocated to assist producers whose crops were affected by the frosts that occurred in July

The National Monetary Council (CMN) approved on Thursday (25/11) the reallocation of financing from the Coffee Economy Defense Fund (Funcafé) for the 2021 financial year.

Of the total of R$ 1,3 billion reserved to assist producers whose crops were affected by the frosts that occurred last July in the main coffee producing regions, after assistance from financial agents of R$ 654,4 million, a balance of R$ $664 million.

This amount will be distributed as follows:

  • Costing operations: R$ 132,8 million
  • Marketing operations: R$179,3 million
  • Financing operations for coffee acquisition: R$159,3 million
  • Working capital financing operations for the instant coffee industry, coffee roasting industry and production cooperatives: R$192,5 million

With the relocation approved by the CMN, Funcafé's other credit lines now have the following allocation of resources:

Costing operations will include values ​​of up to R$1,410 billion, marketing of up to R$1,946 billion, financing for the acquisition of coffee up to R$1,245 billion, working capital financing for the instant coffee industry, coffee roasting industry and production cooperatives up to R$695 million.

The redistribution of Fund resources was approved by the Coffee Policy Deliberative Council (CDPC).
