The CNA National Coffee Commission held, on May 17th and 18th, a series of meetings in Brasília with public and private entities, parliamentarians, to address the sector's demands.
In addition to the institutional rapprochement of the new president, Fabrício Andrade, with the main leaders of coffee growing, the agenda in Brasília was premised on presenting and defending the demands of the productive sector in relation to public policies and representation of Brazilian coffee growing.
The president of the Commission met with the presidency of Embrapa Café to discuss priority themes and ways to promote scientific research and technological development.
Fabrício was also with the General Coordination of Productive and Innovative Systems of the Ministry of Regional Development. At the meeting, he spoke about strategies for adding value to coffee farmers in traditional coffee production regions.
When meeting with Funcafé's Marketing and General Coordination Directorate, the president of the Commission presented to government representatives the real scenario of the coffee harvest, which is in progress, and the demands of producers in relation to expanding capillarity, modernization and application of Funcafé’s resources.
Fabrício also met with federal deputy Emidinho Madeira (PL/MG), president of the Parliamentary Coffee Front, and with Silas Brasileiro, president of the National Coffee Council.
The commission's agenda also included meetings between different CNA coordinations that work on issues that cross-cut the sector, such as labor issues, sustainable production and production costs.
