Tiafenacil herbicide receives permission for trade in Brazil
New molecule belongs to ISK (Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha); is produced in South Korea by FarmHannong (from LG Group); and will be sold by Ouro Fino
The Ceramax product, based on natamycin (natamycin, pimaricin), received approval for use in treating soybean seeds in Brazil. Its purpose is to prevent fungal diseases.
Natamycin results from a secondary metabolite of some species of bacteria of the genus Streptomyces. It is produced on an industrial scale by fermenting various strains of these bacteria.
The holder of registration 34022 in Brazil is "Prophyto Comércio e Serviços Ltda", from São Paulo.
However, worldwide, there is a patent for this use of natamycin for Shandong Freda Biotechnology Co., Ltd (inventors: Yan Zhen, Su Yishan, Zhu Xiqiang, Li Haijun and Ling Peixue).
In fact, the Chinese companies Freda Biotechnology and ChiHon Biotechnology are the companies authorized to manufacture the product to be sold in Brazil.
On the other hand, the formulators of Ceramax are CJB Applied Technologies, LLC (United States) and Ceradis B.V. (Netherlands). The latter holds the brand registration in the Netherlands. In Brazil, to date, there is no request to register the trademark in the appropriate category for the case.
