Municipalities in the Cocari area, in Paraná, reach VBP above R$ 1 billion

Paraná is experiencing a remarkable moment in its agricultural production, with 35 municipalities achieving a Gross Production Value (GVP) of over R$1 billion. The calculation is obtained by the financial volume appropriated by Brazilian agriculture and livestock farming, based on price variations and the estimated production quantity. Of these, 25 are located in Cocari's area of ​​operation, demonstrating the strength and expression of agribusiness in the region.

These cities were highlighted in a report published by the Department of Rural Economy (Deral) of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (Seab), in August 2023, with publication in 2024.

The Strength of the VBP Paranaense

Paraná's total GVP in 2023 reached the impressive figure of R$198,02 billion. According to the Secretary of Agriculture and Supply, Natalino Avance de Souza, these figures demonstrate that rural producers are increasingly taking advantage of growth opportunities. “This represents job and income generation in the countryside,” highlights the secretary. Armed with hard work and dedication, the municipalities stand out in segments ranging from agriculture, livestock, poultry farming and even forestry.

Soy and Poultry: the protagonists of growth

The report highlights that, among the initiatives that drove this growth, soybean and poultry farming, two important sectors of Cocari, stand out as key products. The record production of soybeans in 2023 contributed significantly to the increase in revenue in the municipalities. In the poultry sector, the expansion of slaughtering and the increase in the sale of chicks for rearing and fattening were fundamental to sustaining the success of the segment.
