Publication evaluates the efficiency of fungicides to control soybean rust
The publication is the result of cooperative trials carried out in the 2019/2020 harvest in different producing regions
Almost two years after its launch, the multi-site fungicide Reconil, distributed by Albaugh, is gaining recognition from soybean farmers and agronomists referenced in the production chain. According to the company, the product has been applied, above all, as part of the resistance management of the soybean disease complex. According to Albaugh, in the last harvest Reconil treated more than 1 million hectares of Brazilian crops.
The success achieved by the fungicide, formulated with a copper base, anchors Albaugh's business strategies, online events and communication pieces with an emphasis on digital vehicles, aiming for the 2020-21 harvest, which begins next month. The most favorable cost-benefit ratio for the producer, compared to other multisites, will be a central theme of the campaign.
According to Albaugh, Reconil was recently subjected to studies carried out at the field level, with the participation of recognized names in Brazilian agricultural research, such as Carlos Forcelini, from Agro Tecno, Gerson Meneghetti, from Agroconect and Lucas Navarini, from Plantaconhecimento /there is.
“The integration of copper into the preventive management of resistance and disease control in soybeans provides a favorable cost-benefit ratio for the producer compared to other multi-site alternatives. We have proven, at the field level, that Reconil mitigates specific fungicide resistance processes and improves production results”, says José Geraldo Martins dos Santos, agronomist, director of marketing and product development at Albaugh.
According to the executive, the company, a specialist in the development of high quality post-patent products, sees the Reconil fungicide as a strategic tool for the management of oilseed diseases by the producer. “Tests and research demonstrate that copper delivers a higher return on investment than other active ingredients in multisite fungicides when associated with disease resistance management”, emphasizes Martins dos Santos.
He also points out that Albaugh has one of its key markets in Brazil for investments in the development of post-patent products. According to Martins dos Santos, the company's business strategy is based on an investment plan of around R$100 million, until 2024, with part of this amount focused on research involving the Reconil copper multisite. “Those who used the product in recent harvests will certainly use it again.”
Producer and agronomist Helio Balan, from Fazenda Santa Paula, in Dourados (MS), is one of the users of Albaugh's fungicide who is satisfied with the product's performance. For Balan, one of the direct benefits transferred by Reconil is that it does not clog nozzles during applications.
“We are always chasing productivity, trying to overcome obstacles to our production. Reconil did well, the applicability of the product is very good”, summarizes Ballan. “The problem with new protective products is being able to apply them without clogging the nozzles. I didn't have this problem with Reconil. I use it and recommend it”, reinforces the agronomist.
