On May 25th and 26th, the municipality of Sorriso, Mato Grosso, will host the first stage of Fundação MT in Campo 2ª Safra. The event takes to the agricultural sector the position of the Mato Grosso Agricultural Research Support Foundation (MT Foundation), regarding research results and main problems and solutions for the cultivation and management of second-crop corn and cotton crops.
In Sapezal, western region of the state, the event will be held on June 08th and 09th. The field days are led by the institution's researchers and invited experts, who share the information with previously registered producers, agricultural consultants and technicians. Participants are welcomed to the Learning and Dissemination Center (CAD) at each location.
Four field trials are on Sorriso's schedule, starting at 7am local time. The public will follow and ask questions about the topics Soil correction: doses and methods of applying lime to soybean and corn crops, with researchers Josimar Lessa and Felipe Bertol; Corn leafhopper: biology, management tools and hybrid results, with Lucia Vivan, Mariana Ortega and Felipe Araújo; Management of button broom, with specialist Lucas Barcellos; and Corn Hybrids Showcase, with researcher Felipe Araújo and partner companies.
Sapezal's programming includes the following themes: Aphelenchoides in cotton cultivation, with researcher Rosangela Silva and guest; Disease management in cotton cultivation, with researchers João Paulo Ascari and Karla Kudlawiec; and Fertilization management in cotton cultivation, with researchers Josimar Lessa, Felipe Bertol and partner companies.
The Fundação MT em Campo 2nd Harvest is part of the calendar of the Fundação MT Technology Diffusion Program, which has been taking place for over 25 years. Through it, the Brazilian agricultural class has access to technical contents of agronomic research, studies and experiences.
“The cultivation of the second harvest in the state of Mato Grosso is of great relevance today, hence the importance of bringing updated information to the producer”, highlights Luís Carlos Oliveira, marketing manager at Fundação MT.
