The sugar-energy industry is one of the most eager for innovations to ensure increased productivity and solutions to promote soil health are those that can most contribute to this. Integrating agronomic knowledge and innovation, Mosaic Fertilizers, one of the largest global producers of combined phosphates and potassium, launches a product on the market that optimizes the results of fertilization in sugarcane plantations: the BásicaPro soil fertilizer.
“With superior composition, BásicaPro increases the efficiency of the use of phosphate fertilizers, promoting longevity and profitability for the sugarcane field. Furthermore, it is possible to increase the production of stalks and sugar per hectare”, highlights Bruno Benatti, manager of Perennial Crops at Mosaic Fertilizers.
Composed of a beneficial nutrient for the nutrition of sugarcane fields, the product formulation contains Silicon (Si) and Calcium (Ca). The first promotes greater plant resistance against adverse environmental conditions, which can also result in fewer attacks by pests and diseases, and generates greater efficiency in the use of phosphate fertilizers. The supply of calcium becomes essential in sugarcane crops as it plays a key role in the growth of the root system in sugarcane and recovery in ratoons.
The newest product from Mosaic Fertilizers has a residual nutrient effect – that is, it is characterized by the gradual release and prolongation of the benefits of the elements. Furthermore, it is flexible in use and can be applied to the soil or ratoon preparation, or in the planting furrow. “Mosaic Fertilizers has the most complete portfolio on the market and BásicaPro was developed to meet the specific needs of Brazilian producers and contribute to improving soil quality”, says Benatti.
