How NDVI images of crops help detect management zones
Using NDVI images, it is possible to generate an estimate of productivity and determine management zones.
Mosaic Fertilizers makes the “Nutrição de Safras” application available to the market free of charge, a new technology to facilitate producer decision-making when it comes to nourishing the soil.
The application's main differentiator is its ease of use and speed in analyzing information, just include the crop data, soil analysis and expected productivity, to receive the result immediately. The tool, which will initially be accessible in the Web version, interprets the soil analysis to recommend the necessary nutrients and, based on this data, the fertilizers indicated to guarantee the sustainability and productivity of 33 crops from the main Brazilian agricultural regions.
Produced in partnership with IdealFarm and relying on a history of more than 10 years of data and research from Mosaic Fertilizers, the application works as a unique database. The algorithm crosses crop information and productivity expectations, provided by the producer, with the main recommendation references in Brazil, such as Fundação Mato Grosso, Embrapa and IAC, allowing the choice of recommendation methodologies, both by nutrient balance and using official manuals.
“Considering the particularities of each agricultural region and that approximately 40% of production investments are focused on soil nutrition, we created a tool with the aim of facilitating the producer’s decision-making. We are allies of farmers and work with them to ensure more efficient production, avoiding waste and contributing to increasingly productive and sustainable crops”, explains Maria Luisa Aguiar, product manager at Mosaic Fertilizers.
The first version of the application is now available for access on the web through website. The expectation is that the Android and IOS versions will be ready for download in early September.
