More than 1.300 family farmers from Alagoas will receive Harvest Guarantee in June

It was published this Wednesday (15/06), in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU), the SAF/Mapa Ordinance No. 281, through the Secretariat of Family Agriculture and Cooperatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (SAF/Mapa), which authorizes the payment of the Harvest Guarantee benefit. This month, farmers in the municipality of Canapi, Alagoas, will receive the benefit. The amount of authorized resources will reach more than R$1,1 million.

The ordinance comes into force on June 17, 2022. Full payment of the benefit – referring to the 2020/2021 harvest – will be made in a single installment of R$850, as a result of measures to combat the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) , as published in Ordinance No. 15, of April 14, 2020.

The Garantia-Safra aims to guarantee food security for family farmers who live in regions systematically subject to crop loss, due to drought or floods. Farmers with a monthly income of up to one and a half minimum wages are entitled to receive the benefit, when they have production losses in their municipalities equal to or greater than 50%.

It is worth noting that payments will be made from June 2022, on the same dates defined by the social benefits payment calendar.

Benefit blocked

Farmers adhering to the Garantia-Safra who had the granting of the benefit blocked in the municipalities that had payment authorization in the month of June/2022 must comply with the guidelines set out in Ordinance No. 25, of July 08, 2020, to regularize the benefit.

If the benefit is blocked, the farmer must access his profile in the Garantia-Safra Management System, clicking this link, and check the reason for the block by checking the notification on the profile. The farmer will have up to 30 days, after the publication of the Ordinance authorizing the payment of the benefit, to express his opinion regarding the blockade, through the service “Request a Defense Request after Blocking the Guarantee Benefit – Harvest”, on the Gov.br platform.

The list of farmers who had the benefit blocked, as a precautionary measure, will be forwarded by the State Coordinations to municipal managers.
