Producers in the Paraná region have a new opportunity to learn about and ask questions about Monsanto's exclusive technologies. To this end, the company takes a series of interactive actions and a qualified technical team to the Rural Coopavel Show, held from February 1st to 5th, in Cascavel (PR).

During the event, Monsanto bets on interactivity and knowledge to attract visitors, in addition to reinforcing how management can be one of the best tools for producers to obtain productivity in their crops. The brand's stand presents solutions that, once again, were important for Brazil to break a new record in grain production, despite adverse weather conditions.

Brazilian soybean production is expected to reach 99,2 million tons, registering growth of 2%, according to Agroconsult, breaking a new record. It is estimated that, of the national total for the 2015/2015 harvest, more than 18 million must originate in Paraná, even with the excess rainfall recorded during the harvest. The State is the second largest producer of oilseeds in the country.

In relation to corn, the delay in planting and harvesting soybeans did not hinder the implementation of off-season corn. The outlook for the summer harvest is 27,9 million tons, a volume 7% lower than the last harvest, with an 8% reduction in the planted area, reaching 5,7 million hectares. In the second harvest, the expectation is 57,7 million tons, an increase of 6% over the last harvest. The planted area is expected to register growth of 9%, reaching 10,5 million hectares. The estimated total harvest is 85,6 million tons, compared to 84,7 million tons in the 2014/15 harvest.

During the Coopavel Rural Show, informative videos will be shown to clarify frequently asked questions from producers, such as grain storage on the property, delivery volume and the importance of purchasing certified seeds. With the guidance of entomologists, visitors will be able to recognize in person the caterpillars that cause the greatest losses in the field. And a game will reinforce the concepts of the correct way to create refuge, a resource in areas cultivated with seeds that contain Bt technologies, resistant to pests, which prevents the selection of insects and brings benefits to the farmer in pest management.

“Discover Monsanto" is the name of the game that will clarify to participants the truths and myths about the company and its products. To participate, the player simply answers the questions displayed on a totem touch screen. In addition to interacting, the visitor takes home an instant photo recording their visit to the Monsanto stand.
