Success among rural producers, farmers and other visiting audiences at agribusiness fairs in Brazil, such as this year's editions of Expodireto and Agrishow, and also at the 133rd International Livestock, Agriculture and Industry Exhibition, in Buenos Aires, in neighboring Argentina, the series of Momentum folding planters is one of the main attractions at the Massey Ferguson stand at Expointer 2019. The event in Esteio, a municipality in the Porro Alegre Metropolitan Region, takes place from August 24th to September 1st, from 8am to 20:30pm.

“Momentum arrived to revolutionize planting, especially on large properties. The novelty is the first global project by AGCO – the company that owns the Massey Ferguson brand – developed 100% in Brazil, bringing the best planting quality in the world to Brazilian crops and offering greater versatility for transportation and agility to the farmer”, says Vinicius Gehlen , planter marketing supervisor at AGCO South America. Manufactured at the Ibirubá plant, a municipality in Noroeste Rio-Grandense, the implement will be sold in more than 200 Massey Ferguson dealerships, distributed throughout all Brazilian regions, and from 2020 it will be exported by AGCO to other South American countries, European nations and the United States.

Marking AGCO's entry into the folding planter market, Momentum is yet another demonstration of the company's continuous quest to develop the best solutions for rural producers' needs, helping them to obtain the best results in the field, regardless of the crop. “As planting windows are increasingly shorter, Momentum opens and closes without the need for the driver to leave the control cabin. In one minute, the planter is completely closed and ready to be transported”, highlights Gehlen.

Among the largest in its category, Momentum has versions of 24 (10,2 meters working width), 30 (10,2 meters) and 40 lines (18 meters), 45 cm spacing and 5.130 liter storage box of seeds. Furthermore, the machine is extremely simple to change its spacing, making it possible to change from 45 cm to 50 cm in less than two hours with the 40-line option.

When folded, the planter measures 3,6 meters, the smallest transport width in its category, without the need to disassemble any component and can easily pass through gates and bridges while being pulled by the tractor. The machine is also easily transported on flatbed trucks: simply remove two wheels and two planting lines from the machine's central support, and it will be 3 meters wide without the need to use beaters, reducing operating costs.

Through the double wheelset in tandem in the center of the chassis, the Momentum's load is evenly distributed on the ground. All six wheels are 500 mm wide so that soil compaction is reduced, meaning that extra efforts are not applied to the planter chassis, increasing its useful life. This also allows the equipment to travel long distances between farms – there are machines that have already traveled more than 80 km, eliminating the need to use transport boards.

In every implement, there is only one lubrication point – other planters have up to 6 grease fittings. The other Momentum bushings are self-lubricating and highly resistant 'Infinity' bushings. Furthermore, all of the equipment's bearings are shielded, eliminating the need for daily maintenance.

Highly technological, Momentum is capable of reaching planting speeds above 10km/h, guaranteeing a higher planting quality than the main competitor. The planter has independent self-leveling of the three row supports, called the Smart Frame System, which keeps all rows always in contact with the ground using angle sensors, depositing seeds at a homogeneous depth even on wide bases and contour lines.

With Precision Planting technology, Momentum guarantees the best seed distribution on the market, with singulation levels of up to 99,6% in corn. An exclusive new feature, the 20/20 Generation 3 monitor allows the producer to monitor implement data, tracking information second by second for each of the lines, such as population, singulation (failures and doubles), spacing, planting speed, planting maps , among others, which allows you to better guide operational decisions in real time.

The Momentum series of planters also leaves the factory with the vSet2 seed doser, from Precision Planting, which offers the best distribution on the market, considerably increasing crop productivity and avoiding failures and doubles when depositing seeds into the soil. The equipment also has vDrive, which performs full control of each row individually, ensuring exact seed population, compensation in curves and has the line-by-row shutdown feature, which avoids overlapping seeds in headlands and eliminates unnecessary costs. .
