Family farmers will have a prominent space at the 42nd Expointer, which starts next Saturday (24), in Esteio (RS). A pavilion with more than seven thousand square meters and 316 sales spaces will host the 21st Family Farming Fair. For nine days, the space will offer visitors all the diversity of agricultural production, rural crafts, plants, flowers and four kitchens with meals.

In addition to the marketing opportunity, producers will have access to the ministry's policies. “At the inauguration of the pavilion, dozens of Family Farming Seals will be delivered to farmers. Another very important act will be the signing of the first contracts for the construction and renovation of houses between Banco do Brasil and beneficiaries of Pronaf [National Program for Strengthening Family Agriculture]”, details the Secretary of Family Agriculture and Cooperatives, Fernando Schwanke.

Minister Tereza Cristina will also attend the fair. She is expected to participate in the event on the 29th and 30th and meet with agricultural representatives in an office set up in the family farming pavilion.

The stands will be divided between 312 establishments in Rio Grande do Sul, five more in Rio de Janeiro, ten in Minas Gerais and one in Amapá. The number of registrations is 9,5% higher than in the past, when 285 exhibitors participated in the fair.

From Rio Grande do Sul, there will be 247 agribusinesses and 65 entrepreneurs in the areas of rural crafts, plants and flowers. In total, 139 municipalities in the state will be represented at the site.

Last year, in addition to completing 20 years of recognized public and sales success, the Family Farming Pavilion doubled in size, going from 3,5 square meters to 7,6 square meters.

The new space made it possible to expand the food court to 410 seats and create an internal warehouse, which facilitates the replacement of products by agribusinesses. The Family Farming Pavilion sold 2018% more in 40,3 than in 2017, reaching the R$4 million mark in business.

Competition

One of the most traditional events at the fair, the Family Agroindustry Products Competition, has already set its dates. On Monday (26) and Tuesday (27), the competition will evaluate the best items in the categories: whole grape juice, dry red table wine, dry fine red wine, salami, colonial cheese, silver cachaça, aged cachaça (premium classification and extra premium) and honey.

Another awaited moment is the Cozinha Show, an initiative that promotes and values food produced by family agribusinesses, using these foods in recipes created by chefs.
