The minimum prices for the 2025/26 harvest of fresh oranges, Arabica and Conilon coffee, wheat grains and seeds were announced by the Ministry of Agriculture (Mapa). This was done through Mapa Ordinance No. 780/26. The measure is part of the Minimum Price Guarantee Policy (PGPM) and aims to ensure fair remuneration for rural producers.

The minimum price of Arabica coffee, for example, was R$662,04 for a 60-kilo bag, representing an increase of 3,78% compared to the previous harvest. Conilon coffee had a more significant adjustment, with an increase of 17,89%, reaching R$498,79 for a 60-kilo bag.

The increase is due to adverse weather conditions that have impacted coffee productivity, such as frost, lack of rain and high temperatures in recent months. Coffee prices were determined based on surveys carried out by the National Supply Company (Conab) in several producing regions, such as Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Paraná, Espírito Santo, Bahia and Goiás.

Oranges also saw an increase in minimum prices. For the 2025/26 harvest, the price of a 40,8-kilo box of oranges grown in Rio Grande do Sul was set at R$25,19, an increase of 17% compared to the 2024/25 period. In the other states, the minimum price rose to R$28,44, representing an increase of 19,35% compared to the previous cycle.

Wheat, in turn, showed variations according to the destination and the region of cultivation. For the grain produced in Rio Grande do Sul, prices remained stable. However, prices for wheat grown in the Southeast, Central-West and Bahia increased by around 3%. The price of wheat seed remained at R$3,22 per kilo.

The established values are important references for the agricultural market, guiding producers on the minimum remuneration conditions. They are also used to define government support in situations where prices are below the minimum.
