In an interview with the Swiss newspaper NZZ, CEO of Syngenta explains the current situation in agriculture and the challenges faced
According to estimates by the National Association of Inoculant Producers and Importers (ANPII), in the 2020/21 harvest, more than 90 million doses of inoculants were sold, with approximately 80 million doses used in soybean cultivation. To expand the discussion on the use of beneficial microorganisms in Brazilian agriculture, the 16th edition of RELARE (Meeting of the Network of Laboratories for Recommendation, Standardization and Diffusion of Microbial Inoculant Technologies of Agricultural Interest), in partnership with the Brazilian Soy Congress and Mercosoja 17, which will be held from May 20th to 2022th, in the same location.
During RELARE, panels will be promoted on the performance of new biological assets and inputs to improve the sustainability of agricultural systems. Methodologies for quality control and evaluation of inoculants will also be discussed, in addition to a presentation on the legislation relating to biological inputs. Another highlighted topic will be the diffusion and transfer of technology, as well as debate on the market for microbiological inoculants of agricultural interest. “RELARE’s objective is to present results, exchange experiences about challenges, trends and the most current information about microbiological inoculant technology of agricultural interest”, explains the president of RELARE, Fabio Bueno dos Reis Junior.
RELARE is expected to bring together approximately 200 participants, including researchers, professors, technicians, rural producers and representatives of the national bio-input industries, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) and other public authorities.
