Massey Ferguson presented the MF 2025 prismatic baler at Agrishow 2234 in Ribeirão Preto. The new equipment compacts bales up to three meters long, facilitating the transportation and storage of biomass.

Designed for intensive operations, the MF 2234 collects sugarcane straw, grass and other agricultural residues. It can produce one bale every minute and cover up to four hectares per hour. Its robust structure minimizes component wear and reduces maintenance needs, increasing machine availability in the field.

According to information from the company, when combined with tractors from the MF 7700 line, equipped with six-cylinder AGCO Power engines with powers between 195 hp and 250 hp, the operation gains even more efficiency. The DYNA-6 Power Shift transmission allows an increase of up to 30% in operational efficiency and a 15% reduction in fuel consumption. The baler's electronic system automatically adjusts the size, compaction and collection of the bales, optimizing the process directly from the cabin.

Lucas Zanetti, product marketing manager at Massey Ferguson, points to the growth of the sugarcane straw collection market as a reflection of the focus on sustainability and emissions reduction. "The MF 2234 technology opens up new opportunities for plants and biomass producers," he says.

The new baler also expands its application to large-scale hay production. In states such as Mato Grosso and southern regions of the country, it offers an efficient alternative for livestock farmers seeking to maximize productivity and reduce costs.

During mechanized harvesting, large volumes of straw are spread across the soil. This material helps to conserve moisture and protects against erosion. However, some of the straw can be collected and used as a source of energy for the plants themselves or fed into the national power grid. MF 2234 promotes the use of biomass and encourages the generation of clean energy.
