The mapping of areas cultivated with cotton in Goiás, harvest 2020/21, is now available for consultation. The study was carried out using remote sensing by the technical team of the Regional Superintendence of the National Supply Company (Conab) in the state with the collaboration of the Geotechnology Management.

Through this work, Conab technicians identified the areas where cotton production occurs, evaluating the behavior of the crop throughout the phenological cycle in satellite images. The prior collection of data "in loco" with public and private collaborating agents working in the sector helps classify these areas.

Images of productive areas are obtained via satellite. For the development of the project, interviews are carried out with production agents. This allows the optimization of the process and the generation of information with greater transparency and security for the dissemination of harvest estimates.
