Products help reduce abiotic stress to ensure full plant development
The following were published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Friday, August 21st. ordinances from 183 to 222 with the Agricultural Climate Risk Zoning (Zarc), crop year 2020/2021, for herbaceous cotton crops, intercropping corn with brachiaria first harvest, cowpea and corn first harvest in states of the North and Northeast. Zarc aims to reduce problems related to undesirable weather events and allows producers to identify the best time to plant, taking into account the region of the country, the culture and different types of soil.
Zarc was approved for: growing herbaceous cotton in AL, CE, PB, PE, RN, SE, AP, PA and RR; intercropping corn with brachiaria of the 1st harvest in AL, CE, PB, PE, RN, SE and RR; cowpea cultivation in MT, AL, BA, CE, MA, PB, PE, PI, RN, SE, AP, PA, RR and TO; cultivation of 1st harvest corn in AL, CE, PB, PE, RN, SE, AP, AM, PA and RR.
The agrometeorological model considers elements that directly influence the physiological development of the plant, such as temperature, rainfall, relative air humidity, occurrence of frost, water available in the soil, water demand of crops and geographic elements (altitude, latitude and longitude).
These studies underwent a recent methodological review by a team of experts from Embrapa and partners, in addition to validation meetings with local actors.
