Zarc is a climate risk analysis tool that considers crop and soil characteristics to indicate favorable planting windows. The Agricultural Policy Secretariat, of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa), published this Wednesday (14/09) the ordinances 282 to 313, which approve the Agricultural Climate Risk Zoning (Zarc), crop year 2022/2023, for the cultivation of herbaceous cotton, peanuts, the corn/brachiaria consortium 1st harvest and corn 1st harvest.

Zarc was approved for growing herbaceous cotton in AL, CE, PB, PE, RN, SE, AP, PA and RR; peanut cultivation in AL, CE, PB, PE, RN, SE and RR; corn intercropping with 1st harvest brachiaria in AL, CE, PB, PE, RN, SE, AP and RR; cultivation of 1st harvest corn in AL, CE, PB, PE, RN, SE, AP and RR.

Why follow Zarc?

Farmers who follow Zarc's recommendations are less subject to climate risks and may benefit from the Agricultural Activity Guarantee Program (Proagro) and the Rural Insurance Premium Subsidy Program (PSR). Many financial agents only allow access to rural credit for crops in zoned areas and for planting cultivars indicated in zoning ordinances.

Right Planting App

Rural producers and other agribusiness agents can access official information from Zarc through tablets and smartphones, in a more practical way, facilitating guidance regarding the Federal Government's agricultural policy programs. The Zarc Plantio Certo mobile application, developed by Embrapa Agricultura Digital (Campinas/SP), is available in application stores: iOS Android
