Mapa promotes lectures on good agricultural practices on Tuesday (4)

Among the topics is France's experience in poultry and pig farming

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) will hold, on Tuesday (4), in Brasília, a series of lectures on good agricultural practices and reducing environmental impacts. The event, organized by the Department of Development of Production Chains and Sustainable Production (Depros), will feature the participation of two researchers from Brazil and one from France.

Researcher Paul Robin, from the French Institute for Agricultural Research (Inra), will talk about his country's example in tackling climate change in pig and poultry farming. The waste from these animals can be used to produce fertilizer and generate energy through biodigesters.

Professor Celso Funcia Lemme, from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), will address the importance of sustainability for public policies. Professor Mateus Paranhos da Costa, from the São Paulo State University (Unesp-Jaboticabal), will talk about animal welfare.
