Measures to control fall armyworm in corn

With the aim of supporting rural producers and maintaining productivity, especially during the pandemic caused by the New Coronavirus, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) accelerated the transformation of different services to citizens, which were previously carried out in person, to electronic form.
Since the beginning of March this year, 50 public services have been transformed into digital ones, with completely virtual service through the Gov.BR portal. Since January last year, Mapa has digitized 81 services, in partnership with the Digital Government Secretariat of the Ministry of Economy.
According to the Executive Secretariat of Mapa, digital services have already benefited more than half a million people and companies, with a cost reduction for this public estimated at R$43 million per year and for public authorities at R$117 million per year.
According to Glauber Pereira, Coordinator of the Mapa Processes Office, the Ministry has been improving digital services with the Digital Plan, in partnership with the Digital Government Secretariat of the Ministry of Economy.
“With the pandemic, we intensified the digitalization of services, in a year and a half we transformed 81 digital services, some migrated to digital and others were born digital. The goal for 2021 is to have another 77 services transformed into digital.”
In the area of Agricultural Defense, more than 20 services migrated to digital, such as e-Sisbravet, an electronic tool for modernizing the management of animal disease surveillance, Sigep and the epidemiological studies management system.
The service of qualification of veterinarians from the private sector to work in the National Program for the Control and Eradication of Brucellosis and Animal Tuberculosis and the request for authorization of dairies and milk cooperatives in the More Healthy Milk Program.
In April this year, the service was made available to request for transfer of the Garantia-Harvest benefit due to absence or impediment of the holder. In July, the Map launched the automated service for a request to defend beneficiaries blocked in the Garantia-Safra, aimed at family farmers who joined the Garantia-Safra Program and had the granting of the benefit blocked because they did not meet the criteria required for their registration
Mapa also provided a completely digital service to obtaining credit through Terra Brasil - National Land Credit Program, to facilitate and speed up access to rural credit for the acquisition of land and basic and productive infrastructure.
In the fishing area, the registration application for fisherman amateur and licensing of fishing vessels to supply raw materials for the industrial processing of fishery products destined for the European Union. SINAU online was also established, a system that allows request the assignment of use of physical space in bodies of water under the Union’s domain for aquaculture purposes through an online platform.
Since November, the registration of winegrowers, winegrowers and winemakers across the country started to be done through the Wine and Beverage Information System (Sivibe). The system allows producers to send declarations about cultivated areas, quantity produced in the harvest per variety and the destination of this production. The objective is to generate important statistics and surveys of the national wine sector, promoting and highlighting the economic and social importance of this sector.
Applications were also launched to facilitate access to information and services, in addition to other innovations in the technology area, such as ID Agro platform, which will allow the official registration of tractors and agricultural equipment, at no cost to rural producers.
