Mapa and Federal Revenue seize 56 tons of agricultural pesticides

A task force involving the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) and the Federal Revenue Service seized more than 56 tons of irregular pesticides in Ponta Porã (MS). The operation, which began last Sunday (8), targeted illegally imported pesticides that would be distributed in the Central-West region. 

Federal agricultural tax auditors seized and identified the products, most of which were insecticides. Emamectin Benzoate. In total, more than 40 people involved in smuggling were charged. The seized pesticides were sent to a company that will carry out the destruction.

Tax auditors from Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul participated in the task force, in addition to technical support, remotely, from Mapa auditors who helped with intelligence work. The Customs team from the Federal Revenue Service helped in the transfer of information and equipment to carry out the action to combat the smuggling of illegal products.
